The Sitar Flight
The Sitar Flight Français Glad my sitar is back in the studio after many years! Transporting a sitar whether by train, plane or automobile, is always a delicate endeavor. This instrument is incredibly fragile, it has a hollow neck and an empty pumpkin body. Originating from Kolkata, India, this particular sitar was later transported to France, where I acquired it from a yoga master. This marks the fourth transatlantic journey it has taken with me. "Is This A Sitar?" Traveling with a sitar is not commonplace. Occasionally, people inquire about its peculiar shape and what lies inside. Those familiar with it often express admiration, saying things like "wow, cool!" Above is a picture of the sitar case at the airport, ready to be loaded onto the plane.
